Sure, you can tie your new strap on your expensive guitar with an old shoe lace. Very 60’s.  But why do that? Why not simply mention that you need an ACTION headstock strap sent when your strap is shipped. No problem, no charge. Your strap will be happier and your guitar will thank you .
